Recommendation

Dear Friends and Supporters of the Fidelis Foundation-

As a co-laborer in the goal to end the foster care crisis in south Florida, I have worked with hundreds of foster children in the 4KIDS of South Florida's residential programs. With ages ranging from 4 to 18,1 have had the opportunity to observe how children from many diverse backgrounds and experiences respond to the loving care we offer them. For some, all they need to thrive is a roof over their head and a stable, loving environment. Others, who bear the emotional and physical scars of a past laden with abuse, need more intense intervention to bring about healing. These children often have great difficulty trusting others and even themselves.

This is where the Fidelis Foundation comes in. I have observed the Fidelis Foundation from its' inception to present, watching it grow and develop over time into the blessing that it is for children in distress today. My belief in the vision and ability of the foundation to enrich the lives of those who need it most is evidenced by my involvement with the foundation in which I serve as a member of the board of directors.

I can testify to the amazing ability a horse has to connect with a child and help that child to feel loved, needed and cherished. The therapeutic properties of horseback riding help to ease the traumatic effects associated with abuse. It has been a pleasure to see how our kids respond to the unconditional love that a horse offers them. Qualities such as the development of self-control, respect for authority, trust, self-confidence and the birthing of positive dreams and purposes in the hearts of these children are often the result of time spent at the Fidelis Foundation. The need for a ministry dedicated to serving troubled and hurting kids like the Fidelis Foundation is huge. I am so excited to be a part of such a dynamic force that is going to truly assist in changing the direction of many vulnerable kids' lives forever. I stand in full support of the foundation and hope that after learning more, you will feel the same as well.

To Whom It May Concern:

If there are two things I have the utmost appreciation for, its ministry and creativity. Unfortunately, I have witnessed several occasions where one has been sacrificed at the expense of the other.

In many circles of ministry, there's such a strong reliance upon proven formulas of the past that any passionate pursuit for originality is lost. On the other hand, sometimes creativity can become an end unto itself, and there's such a preoccupation with being innovative that the true objective of helping those who are hurting is completely lost.

It is with the greatest enthusiasm, therefore, that I take this opportunity to praise The Fidelis Foundation for their commitment to minister to orphaned and abused children through the creative medium of equine therapy.
Something priceless happens as an innocent child that is overwhelmed with the sense confusion and loneliness is able to experience an encounter with something as magnificent and captivating as a horse. Life's problems are quickly forgotten and replaced with a flood of wonder and fascination. Hearts come alive, smiles emerge, laughter abounds, and joy flows. More importantly, the hope that 1 i fe holds something good and worthwhile is restored and redeemed.

This is what creative ministry looks like, and this is why I am so supportive of what The Fidelis Foundation is accomplishing hi the young hearts and minds.
