Fidelis Foundation Volunteer Opportunities for 2009

There are so many more children who need our help this year and the Fidelis Foundation is more motivated than ever to come alongside them with our Equine Programs during this challenging season of thier lives. 

 

How You Can Help

These are difficult times, and because of that our little foundation is in direct need of any help you can provide at this time. It can be anything from encouragement and spreading awareness to volunteerism, donations,  and even ncluding us in prayer. Anything you can do to help us will be a way to contribute to care to our community's children in need.

 

Volunteer Opportunities for 2009

We are recruiting more volunteers with roles beginning immediately. Please reply right away if one of these positions/teams resonates with your interests and skill set.

 

Are You Organized, Love Children, Horses and Fresh Air? Equine Program Administrative Assistants

If organization is your thing we need volunteers who can work at the barn (Sunshine Meadows in Delray Beach) to provide administrative and general assistance to Trainers while they are working with the children.

 

Qualifications: Organized and proactive (requires little supervision). Positive, upbeat and extremely dependable. 18 years or older. Reference, fingerprinting and background check.
 
Time Requirement: Approximately of 4-5 hours every 2 weeks. Vision Tour is usually about 2 hours, including set up and tour. Required monthly team meetings (increased to weekly meetings prior to certain larger events).

 

Know How to Throw a Memorable Event (Large or Small)? Vision Tours & Events Team

Fidelis Foundation Vision Tours is our opportunity to invite interested guests to the barn to meet the horses, the trainers and see mock equine exercises and get a feel for the programs that we offer to the children of the community. We are coming into the season again where we would like to have Vision Tours every two weeks and need help organizing, orchestrating and making that hour of time really memorable. We also have three exciting, upcoming events in 2009 that we will need our Event Team to help develop.
 
Qualifications: Experience putting together memorable events, soliciting donations and sponsorships when necessary. Positive, innovative, upbeat and extremely dependable. 18 years or older. 
 
Time Requirement: Approximately of 4-5 hours every 2 weeks. Vision Tour is usually about 2 hours, including set up and tour. Required monthly team meetings (increased to weekly meetings prior to certain larger events).

 
Awareness Dinners & Events
We could also use some additional partners out there helping us raise awareness and/or funds through dinners and events. If you know anyone able to bless the Fidelis Foundation with an Awareness Dinner or Event for their friends and family please let us know. 


Is Writing Your Bag? Newsletter and Blog Writer Team

We need a newsletter team to develop and write articles for our newsletter on a quarterly basis.
 
Qualifications: Prior experience with various copywriting projects necessary. Experience with Constant Contact helpful. We would prefer professional blog writing and management experience also. Must be able to do some research when necessary as well.
 
Time Requirement: It varies depending on project and team members. Minimum 1 project per quarter. Required montly team meetings.
 


Are You Particularly Resourceful and Gifted at Googling? Research Team

We need a research team to help us immediately with compiling and utilizing information for our marketing collateral, website, finding grant opportunities and more.
 
Qualifications: Must have a gift for tracking down and recording accurate information via the internet, libraries, or alternative resources (Junior League Library).
 
Time Requirement: It varies depending on projects. Minimum 5 hours per month. Required montly team meetings.
 


Do You Eat, Drink, Sleep Design? Graphic/Web Design Team

We have various opportunities for designing anything from flyers to invitations to our email updates and notifications to our volunteer and donor base on a monthly/quarterly basis. We also have a need for web design/layout for our website that is under development. We need designers who are particularly adept at taking concept to design quickly and effectively.
 
Qualifications: Experience designing print ads, promotional materials, direct mail, brochures, invitations, online banners ads, as well as corporate identity. Highly proficient in the current versions of Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Quark Xpress, as well as web-based programs such as ImageReady, Flash, Dreamweaver and Fireworks.
 
Time Requirement: It varies depending on projects. Approximately 10 hours per month. Required monthly team meetings.
 


Are You a Master at Getting the Word Out? Marketing/PR Team

We are in a very exciting formative stage of establishing the most effective way to communicate our organization and develop awareness within the community. We need a very positive and effective Marketing/PR Team to help us accomplish several goals within 2009.
 
Qualifications: Must have at least 5 years previous experience with Branding, Marketing and/or Public Relations. Experience in ecommerce, non-profit and equine genre preferred.
 
Time Requirement: It varies depending on projects. Approximately 10 hours per month. Required monthly team meetings.
 


Video Production Team

We have the opportunity to put together promotional video(s) for events and to represent Fidelis Foundation at events, etc.

Qualifications: In particular, we need someone experienced in writing scripts for promotional videos.

Time Requirements: Approximately 10-15 hours depending on scope of project. Required monthly team meetings.

 

Particularly Adept at Finding and Writing Grants? Grant Research/Writing Team

There are probably many grants that we are able to take advantage of that we have not been able to find. We need help tracking these down ASAP.
 
Qualifications: Must have previous experience finding and writing grants for non-profit organizations and willing to do research to track down new and appropriate grants for the Fidelis Foundaiton. 
 
Time Requirement: It varies depending on projects. Approximately 5-10 hours per month. Required monthly team meetings.
